This will not come as a shock to you as it’s something we have labelled before however there is a growing number of Londoners Therenting property outside the capital where affordability is stretched. More buy-to-let landlords are now looking beyond London when investing in property, but what are the best commuter towns for those working in the capital city? 

Cheshunt in Hertfordshire has been classed as the number one town this year for commuters.  Calculated by ranking average house prices, length of a train journey into the capital, cost of a season ticket, and the commuter town’s ONS lifestyle rating. 

Located around 26 minutes away from the city centre, a season ticket in Cheshunt - which stands at £2,288.

For any of you buy-to-let investors thinking of buying property Chesthunt, the average price of a residential property is currently £384,248.

Commuters in Waltham Cross can expect to pay £2,028 for a season ticket, and travel for around 28 minutes however property prices are slightly more expensive costing an average of £390,612.

In third place… High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. With an average journey time into London of 30 minutes and the average property price being £331,092.
